VOLUNTEER @ SiFF Fest

Small Island Future Festival:

The Small Island Future Fest will feature a wide range of attractions from exhibitions, to film, fashion, fitness, competitions, delicious food, and an entertainment section too! It's all about coming together to have fun and promote sustainable living.

Dates: June 28th + 29th

What we need your expertise with:

  • Set up and move in - June 27th (timing TBC)

    • Helping with strong arms, truck for moving bigger items, putting up signage etc. 

  • Manning our booth - June 28th + 29th (8am-6pm)

    • Volunteers are asked to take a 3 hour slot on as many days as they can manage. Entrance is free!

    • We need help with educating the public about Permaculture, Helping with an interactive kid area, selling seeds and plants, general support. 

    • Volunteers will work along with one of our usual CPRI volunteers so that the booth is manned by no less than 2 persons at all times. 

  • Take down - Late on June 29th (timing 6-8pm)​

    • reverse procedure to move in day. ​

Lorraine Ciarallo is a permaculture consultant and designer, and serves as CPRIB’s Site Manager. With 20 years of entrepreneurial business experience in the wholesale and retail industry, she intends to help create a vibrant permaculture demonstration site and a dynamic farm market for the community. Her passion is in the garden growing nutritiously dense fresh foods, increasing soil fertility, and passing on her permaculture expertise and knowledge to others. She particularly takes interests in fostering confidence in others to engage in gardening.

Kenton Zerbin is an inspirational speaker, teacher & consultant who empowers others to repair degraded landscapes, grow food and build community. A teacher by training, Kenton speciality is in facilitating a quality education as a professionally certified Permaculture teacher. He has spent the last 3 years studying, designing and teaching Permaculture across Australia and Canada, designing properties and guest speaking for gardening groups, conferences and Universities alike. He now serves as the PRI certified Permaculture Teacher & educational program planner for The Caribbean Permaculture Research Institute of Barbados.

Sandra Myers is an Human Resource Management Consultant and Strategic Management Facilitator. With 40 years of practical managerial experience & 15 years as a management consult, Sandra brings an impressive repertoire of skills to the administration of the CPRI programme including strategic management, project coordination, presentation and communications expertise. In addition to working with The Caribbean Permaculture Research Institute of Barbados, Sandra contributes her time as a representative for the Trees That Feed Foundation in Barbados.

VOLUNTEER @ AGROFEST

AGROFEST:

Barbados' biggest agricultural exhibition.

This years theme: "YOUTH Farming the Future"​

Dates: February 23, 24 25

What we need your expertise with:

  • Set up and move in - Feb 22nd (timing TBC)

    • Helping with strong arms, truck for moving big items, putting up signage etc. 

  • Manning our booth - Feb 23, 24, 25 (9am-9pm)

    • Volunteers are asked to take a 4 hour slot on as many days as they can manage. Entrance fee is covered for all volunteers taking a 4 hour time slot. 

    • We will hold a volunteer meeting ahead of the fair to ensure that all volunteers know what we are promoting during the fair and have all the relevant info. Volunteers will work along with one of our usual CPRI volunteers so that the booth is manned by no less than 2 persons at all times. 

  • Take down - Feb 25+26 (timing TBC)​

    • reverse procedure to move in day. ​
